It's no longer considered just a woman's luxury to have a professional manicure. Manicures for men are now done at spas - where men comprise 29% of the customers! Not only are they getting manicures, they are getting facials, and even waxing! Men's skin care products rose 13% in sales last year!

Men deserve to feel pampered and I can think of nothing more relaxing than getting a massage, having a steam bath, and getting a facial and a manicure. Men are definitely more conscious of grooming these days and of over all health
as well.

In order to attract 'real men' one men's salon advertises manicures as 'hand detailing' - nothing feminine sounding about that. This is an innovative company called American Male and they have salons in 15 cities so far. They serve beer with the hand detailing. Nice if you could get your car detailed at the same time. These men know it's okay for a real man to want more than a haircut, but that they probably wouldn't be caught dead in a woman's 'frou frou' spa!

For those that are not fortunate enough to afford 'the royal treatment' at a spa, or salon, there are barber shops that offer manicures along with haircuts. Before the advent of the nail salon, the beauty shop was always the place for women to get manicures.

I imagine there are still those bastions of masculinity that prefer to do their manicures themselves. For them, there are super deluxe kits that help with manicures for men. There are quite a number of complete sets on the market.
