There is such an array of manicure supplies available today that it might be a good idea to take a virtual tour on the Internet to learn what the innovative beauty supply companies are up to. As with all things, as the world progresses in knowledge and technology, so does the world of health and beauty products.
We began hearing about exfoliating dead skin cells from the face maybe only 10 years ago. Although this may have been known and practiced by better facial salons, I don't ever remember hearing about it for home use. Just recently, one began to hear about the concept of exfoliation for the hands.
Currently there are many common manicure supplies that include exfoliating agents. No longer is a manicure just soaking and moisturizing temporarily, but by exfoliation, actually revealing soft, new skin that more readily absorbs and retains moisture. One of the finer, more natural or organic sounding exfoliating agents for hands is Dead Sea salt.
In the past the manicure bowl was a regular part of manicure supplies for a salon, and it still is. However, the advent of the spa concept, has gone from the Jacuzzi to the facial appliance, and finally to the nail salon. Warm bubbling water is very relaxing, and in itself performs exfoliation, as well as moisturizing. Now part of every well stocked inventory of manicure supplies are agents that are used to enhance the nail spa experience and effectiveness.
There are so many new processes and techniques that require manicure supplies, such as chemicals for gluing and removal of artificial nail tips and silk wraps. There are gels and other elements involved with nail sculpturing. There are even little stencils that are used to apply geometric or jeweled designs to the artificial nails. There are under-coats and over-coats and shimmers.
Manicure supplies today also include electric nail file appliances. These, again, are used for many of the artificial nail applications that are so common today. To remove the glued on, wrapped or sculpted artificial nails by hand, is a long and painful process. The electric nail file appliances enable this procedure to be a little less so. They also can do a more efficient job of buffing and polishing than a manicurist can do by hand.
